How do you describe your photography style?

I consider my work to be mostly documentary, making sure to capture all of the candid moments and details to tell the full story of you and your day.  My editing style is true to life so that you can look back at your images and see the day just as it was.

We are very awkward in front of the camera, any tips?

So many of my clients say this.  I'm right there with you - point a camera at me and I make the weirdest faces (probably one of the reasons I'm behind the camera hehe).  I always strive for you to feel like we are hanging out and going on a walk instead of stiffly posed and conscious of the camera.  My clients often talk about how they felt completely comfortable.

What is a First Look?

This is a chance for the couple to see each other for the first time before the ceremony, in a quiet place shared just to themselves.  I take a step back and allow you to have a quiet moment to yourselves (often the only chance you will have on the day of your wedding!).  Doing a first look takes a lot of the pressure of seeing each other for the first time along as opposed to in front of all your friends and family.  It also allows you to knock out some of your formal photos before the ceremony so that you and your families can enjoy your cocktail hour and spend more time together.

Do we need a second photographer?

I am completely comfortable photographing weddings on my own and have done the majority of them by myself.  However, I would recommend having a second photographer if extra detail shots are very important to you or required if you have a guest list larger than 125.

How many images will we receive?

I guarantee at least 50 images per hour of coverage but I end up delivering upwards of 75-100 per hour.

When will we receive our images?

I send a nice sneak peek within the first few days after your wedding day.  The rest of the gallery is delivered within 4-6 weeks depending on season.

Do we own the rights to the images?

As photographer, I retain the copyright.  However, you receive full print rights meaning you can print your images however and for whomever you would like.  You are also welcome to post to social media.  You just can't edit them or sell them to a third party.  I also ask that any vendor requests for images be directly to me and I will happily provide.

Can we have all of our images?  What about RAW files?

No and you don't want them!  I take out the throw aways - duplicates, blinking eyes, out of focus images - and you get the rest!  I do not give out RAW images as those are unfinished work.

What do you do to make sure our images are safe after the wedding?

I'm crazy paranoid about this (luckily not from personal experience!).  I use two cameras on your wedding day with two memory cards each.  So I always have a backup throughout the day.  I keep one set of cards in my camera bag and one set on me (in my fanny pack, of course!) until I am home and can safely back up to two hard drives and in a cloud-based backup.

Do you have liability insurance?

Absolutely and I'm happy to provide proof of insurance if the venue requires it.

Do you need a shot list from us?

I will request a family list from you ahead of time and any special requests for photos.  I'd also love for you to point out any details that can easily be overlooked, such as a family heirloom sewn into a dress.  I strive to capture everything from your day and have shot enough weddings that I don't need to work off of a shot list.

Where are you based? Will you travel?

I'm based in Los Angeles, CA!  I travel for free anywhere in the state and charge a flat $350 for out of state weddings (excluding Hawaii and Alaska).  I can provide a custom travel quote for overseas.

How much do you cost?

My weddings start at $4,200 and couple's typically spend $4,700-$6,200.  Elopements and small weddings (10 people or less) start at $2,400.
