Caroline and Jeffrey got married at The Redwood Room at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu on a sunny California day.

This super stylish couple pulled together a truly unique celebration of their love, taking full advantage of the rustic charm of The Redwood Room at Calamigos Ranch. His royal blue suit paired with her extra bright floral crown + bouquet combo popped against the natural beauty of the redwoods and eucalyptus trees blanketing the ceremony.

One of the greatest things about how this couple planned their wedding was staying just next door at Calamigos Guest Ranch. Their big day was a breeze as they got ready and simply walked next door for their ceremony and reception. Who doesn’t want a laid back, relaxed morning to start the most important day of their lives?

My absolute favorite part of shooting weddings is capturing the candid little moments of true love - between the couple, of course, but just as much between the family and friends who are coming together to celebrate their joy. The wedding party photos and portraits were easily captured on the picture-frame porch at the guest house, and additional portraits were taken of the couple by a lake adjacent to The Redwood Room. The layout of this venue allowed us to seemingly be everywhere at once, without taking away any precious time from the party starting next door.

And party they did! A romantic and elegant cocktail hour led to an intimate dinner, followed by an epic dance party no one in attendance will soon forget.

While the stylish Calamigos Ranch has four varying size, but equally luxurious, event spaces to choose from, all set against the rugged backdrop of the Santa Monica Mountains, the Redwood Room really stands out. Capacity is 300 guests for the ceremony and up to 375 for the reception. The space features a breathtaking outdoor tree-shaded ceremony garden, with an indoor wood paneled reception room complete with incredible natural light and the most darling stone fireplace. The location of the ranch itself is also worth noting - Los Angeles based couples looking for an out of town vibe without wanting to travel far will love how remote Calamigos Ranch feels. It’s less than an hour outside of the city, but you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into another world beneath the oak and eucalyptus trees.
